TechCU Arena Rink 5 + 6 Expansion

The Tech CU Arena Rink 5+6 project in San Jose, CA, involved the construction of a 205,000-square-foot metal building designed to serve as a modern sports and entertainment venue for both the San Jose Barracuda(San Jose Sharks AAA Team) and teh City of San Jose's public. With one Ice Rink/Arena being dedicated to the San Jose Barracuda and one Ice Rink being dedicated tot eh City's Public skating uses. The project was completed by Quality Erectors & Construction Co., Inc., using materials supplied by various manufacturers, including GEM Buildings, Kingspan insulated metal wall panels, rigid board by Bay Insulation, Standing Seam roof by GEM Buildings, Steel Stadia Terraces by SPS Stadia, open web girders/open web joists by Vulcraft, decking by Verco Decking and many other trusted partners of QEC.

The Tech CU Arena was designed to accommodate a wide range of events, including concerts, sporting events, conventions, and trade shows. The arena features state-of-the-art audio and lighting systems, a modern scoreboard, and comfortable seating for up to 4,200 spectators. The venue also includes multiple concession areas, restrooms, and VIP suites.

The construction of the arena was a significant undertaking, requiring careful coordination between the various contractors and suppliers involved in the project. Quality Erectors & Construction Co., Inc. was responsible for the design, fabrication and erection of the pre-engineered metal building solution. The team provided a true cradle-to-grave solution as a design-build partner to Devcon Construction.

Overall, the Tech CU Arena project was a significant addition to the San Jose entertainment landscape, providing a modern, versatile venue for a wide range of events. The use of high-quality materials and advanced construction techniques ensured that the arena was not only functional but also durable and energy-efficient.
