Hayward BART Central Warehouse Facility

The Hayward BART Central Warehouse Facility is a 120,000 square foot pre-engineered metal building located in Hayward, CA. The facility was designed and built by Quality Erectors & Construction Co., Inc. on behalf of the Bay Area Rapid Transit Authority (BART) to provide storage space for parts and materials used to support the BART rail transit system in the California bay area.

The building is comprised of a pre-engineered metal structure supplied and installed by Quality Erectors & Construction Co., Inc., with Butler Buildings as chosen building manufacturer. The pre-engineered metal building solution was selected due to its cost-effectiveness, speed of construction, and ability to provide a large, open storage space. The client ended up loving the solution and has been enjoying the space for years with nothing but positive feedback in the media.

The Hayward BART Central Warehouse Facility is a LEED Silver certified project, which means that it meets certain standards for sustainability and energy efficiency. The building features a range of energy-efficient systems, including HVAC, natural daylighting via prismatic skylights, and insulation, which help to reduce energy consumption and lower operating costs.

The facility includes a large open storage space with high ceilings and ample room for storing a wide range of rail car/track materials and parts. The design also includes a number of loading docks to facilitate the efficient loading and unloading of materials for operation success in the BART Maintenance Facility.
